Costa Rincon Rin198 Replacement Lens Guide

Confirm the Costa Rincon model identifier and the Rin198-compatible lens outline before buying replacement lenses.

Costa’s current Rincon page describes a large, wide-fit frame with a base-6 decentered lens shape, but production markings and generations can vary. EBJDE lenses are independent aftermarket accessories, not Costa OEM products.

For broader context, start with the Sunglass Replacement Lenses Guide. The product link in this guide points to a current EBJDE Online Store destination, not a generic or archived listing.

Identify the Rincon Frame

Read the model information printed inside the temple and compare it with the seller’s stated Rin198 compatibility. Do not order solely because the frame resembles another wrap-style Costa model.

• Match the Rincon name and Rin198 reference.
• Compare the original lens height, width and corner shapes.
• Inspect the bevel and retention channel around the full lens edge.

Compare Current Aftermarket Options

The EBJDE listing includes multiple colors, including clear and mirrored-looking options. The exact feature set belongs to the selected variant; never assume every color is polarized, photochromic or equivalent to Costa 580 technology.

1. Read the selected variant name and description.
2. Choose clear or tinted options based on stated use and appearance.
3. Do not infer OEM coatings, 580P or 580G performance from a color name.
4. Verify that the chosen option is in stock before installation planning.

Installation and Post-Fit Inspection

Clean the frame and work over a padded surface. Compare the new lens to the removed original, engage the bevel progressively and confirm that the lens is fully captured.

• Avoid concentrated force near the corners.
• Keep hard tools away from optical surfaces.
• Inspect for gaps, rocking or stress whitening.
• Clean with lens-safe methods after the fit is confirmed.

Common Mistakes and Stop Conditions

Common mistakes include confusing Rincon with Fantail or another Costa model, treating any similarly shaped lens as compatible, and describing aftermarket options with OEM performance claims.

• Stop if the model marking is unclear or conflicts with the listing.
• Stop if the lens edge or curve does not match the original.
• Use a professional installer if the frame resists normal flex or the lens will not seat evenly.
